Chef Steve Schopen is relentless in quality and detail. All ice creams, desserts, dressings, marinades, and sauces are made from scratch in house with nothing being sacrificed to save time or to pinch a penny. Seafood and meats are sourced within Virginia and North Carolina whenever possible and always from premium fresh purveyors. Vegetables, fruit, herbs,eggs, and other ingredients are seasonally sourced from local and Virginia farmers, both large and small.
While the menu in place is crafted for your enjoyment, Chef Steve and his culinary team are well known for going out of their way in order to please their diners.

Regardless of the dish, rest assured all the ingredients are fresh. Chef Bruno Silva works with local farmers Robert Muncy and Richard Flanders who supply the restaurant with fresh fruits and vegetables, allowing Bruno to create dishes seasonal dishes using fresh local ingredients. “My goal is to do everything local, not with big distributors,” he said.
